e-receipts? Mar 31. 059

So, recently I’ve been thinking about the concept of ‘e-receipts’. It must be said, I’ve done no research into whether something like this is already in the works, if it is, great. In the meantime here’s my take on the idea.

In the UK most people now have ‘Chip & Pin’ Credit and Debit cards. This means that you no longer sign for purchases but instead enter your pin via a keypad.

While this has helped to ‘streamline’ the whole paying for goods process you still end up waiting ages for the cashier to print out your ‘paper based’ receipt (Chug chug chug, rip). What if your receipt was simply transmitted back to your bank or credit card company and made available for you to retreive if required via your usual online banking interface?

If you really needed a paper receipt you could still request one, but I bet most people shove that little bit of paper in their jacket pocket only to bin it a few days later.

Guess what, I just googled ‘e-receipts’ and found this. Looks like someone got there about a zillion years before me.

Must remember to google journal entries prior to spouting them upon my readers in the future.

I had been thinking like this for sometime. I was actually thinking more in terms of that you create ereceipt account in some eReceipt web site and you tie ur credit cards to that account or have credit card site add ereceipt account to your credit card account. So when u make any transaction with any of those cards receipt or transaction goes to ur eReceipt account. Even further u get a small plastic if u open ereceipt account. For any cash transaction , u have retailer slide that plastic to transfer receipt for ur cash transaction to ur eReceipt account.

There are so many ideas but to launch any idea you need resource, money :)

I have been thinking about this idea for the last year and I believe I have found a way to make e-receipts a commercially viable business.  (Adoption by both customers and merchants has always been a problem for the past versions of e-receipts.) I am looking for someone who has a software engineering background and share the same vision (in making e-receipts a widely accepted reality) to venture into this together.
I look foward to hearing from YOU!

Hand-written or hand-completed receipts are more often used for infrequent or irregular transactions, or for transactions conducted in the absence of a terminal, cash register or point of sale (for example, as provided by a landlord to a tenant for receipt of rent money

You have made up your rental application and your lease form and are pleased with how they have come out, but now it is time to also make sure that you have a rent receipt template. Most tenants will insist on receipts for their rent, but it is simply good practice to make sure that you give out receipts for your rent every month.

Receipt printers are used in a wide variety of different businesses from shops and superstores to bars and restaurants to name but a few. Receipts are provided whenever a financial transaction has occurred and it details the product or service that was bought, how much the customer paid for it and other information such as the time and date of the transaction.

Best thing to do is find your local Consumer Credit Counseling service - it is government funded. They give you loads of information about debt, and they will put you on a debt repayment plan that will lower your interest, eliminate late charges, and get your bills paid off. You pay them once a month to take care of the bills. They get a small monthly fee, but you pay less than you did before. You have to cancel all your credit cards, and what a relief it is.
