Nintendo Revolution unveiled May 17. 0519

What a week, first we had the Xbox 360, then the PlayStation 3, and now the Nintendo Revolution. Well I think without doubt the Nintendo wins on aesthetics.

Nintendo Revolution... mmm... super sexy.

What a ‘beautiful’ piece of hardware, I bet the PlayStation design team are kicking themselves, this is really what I expected from them. It’s sleek, is the size of a stack of three DVD cases and has no visible knobs, buttons or ports for joysticks. The system will use only wireless controllers, and it sits flat or stands vertically.

Ok so the Revolution pretty much loses the fight in terms of processing power but as Nintendo’s Perrin Kaplan says: “It’s not all about having ‘turbo power’, It’s about what you do with it.”

now that’s frickin’ awesome!!!

definitely a move away from Nintendo’s previous styles, a good move if i may say so.

i just hope that it does have the glowing drive slot. :D

We all know that ps3 and xbox360 are medicore pieces of shit, this nintendo console is the best on this planet. i mean, who cares about graphics, when you can have the most fun gameplay possible.

I just have this to say, for the people who say nintendo revolution is the greatest system and is better than xbox 360 or ps3, must either be high on drugs or is just plain stupid. Nintendos systems never have and great capabilities with their systems compared to sony or microsoft. If the want to really make it big in the gaming industry, they need to put more power in the system, better online capabilites, and whole lot more.

While I am a nintendo fan I have to agree with some of the points that have been previously stated, Nintendo does need to add alittle more edge to their gaming line up Zelda and Metrod alone won’t cut it forever and eventually they’ll lose more fans than they gain. However to say that everything in gaming is about beefed up graphics and an M rated games or HD capadibility aren’t all we should look for to in next gen consles or games. Inovation is what all consle and game makers should strive for first in any consle cycle and for most part I’m please to say my fellow Nintendo fans the future could be very bright for us. Now I know to the general this may sound like my fanboy side coming out but hear me out for a minute as I attempt to explain my postion. The first thing I see going in Nintendo and Microsofts favor is the uncertainty of the PS3 price Sony has to go above five to six hundred dollars at launch it’ll be save to say that it won’t be on everyones gift list come chirstmas or whenever it comes out. Also at present the only sure launch is your guess is as good as mine. The next reason is the weakness of Xbox’s game lineup as Xbox proved in the past it is a graphic power house however other than a few Halo and a few others the xbox game lineup wasn’t all that strong to their credit Microsoft realized this and put out a slew of good games at launch however I think they may have abit of a product quality drop off in their second year that may give nintendo to gain some ground. My final and most important reason I feel nintendo will succed in this consle cycle is the cnotroller tech. Sure When I first head that the design is a tv remotebut the motion sensor tech underneath could be the kind of inovative fun that american gamers pass up because it doesn’t come in a blood spilling boob popping package. Off hand I can say that there at least two or three game types this tech will definely work for. Sports titles such as baseball basketball hockey and football, Weapon based fighting games like Soulcailbur come to mind and for all you M rating adiccts first person shooters just to name a few, and this don’t include what plans they may have for this new tech when it come to Mario, Zelda nd the other major titles. Besides that Nintendo is exploring online gaming a mrket that they could make a larger splash than expected if they’d commit to it,the pokemon franchise would be prefect as a consle MMO. In closing I’d like to say that while I have my own personal grips The Mario gain and there Mule lkie stubornness when it comes to the tech curve at times I can not denie the commitment to risk taking and inovation are what the Gaming world needs to keep gaming fresh and not some corperate money machine.

why does nintendo constantly under deliver with processing power, havent they finally realised with poor sales of n46 and cube with ps ps2 and xbox that they need to beef it up if they want to get anywhere in the console market, fair enought he have the best consoles to deliver kids games “pikmin, pokemon and etc” but arent they forgeting the bulk of the market is in the action fighting and racing games which cube will not be able to provide as well as 360 and ps3. microsoft and sony have made major advances on next gen consoles its time nintendo does the same, will i be expecting the revolution to deliver great smooth childs gams again like donkey kong or awesome games like mgs and others

The revolution is the greatest thing to ever happen to the gaming industry. The PS3 and X Box 360 are a load of crap.

GO NINTENDO.

I’m going to have to throw my favor with the PS3 in regards to both design and power. I’m not impressed with the Revolution. From a design standpoint, it looks like a piece of gaudy plastic, and about as ugly as the original 8-bit NES.

The controller is also mysteriously missing from this photo. Nintendo seems to completely renovate its controllers with each new machine, so I can only guess at the configuration of the new one. I’m too lazy to look for pictures on IGN, but both of the other consoles included controllers in their shots.

I must say, I’m warming to the PS3. Some more recent ‘natural’ shots of it reveal that the curved sides are gloss in finish much like the Revolution… but I still love the Revolution for it’s simple look and miniscule footprint… but as you say it is perhaps a bit 8-bit in appearance.

I have my own personal prejudices and win Mario stubornness lkie Mule, fair enough, he could have better consoles provide games for children

Now a days there is a lots of competition in gaming technology. I personally think Nintendo Revolution is will become successful console compare to PS3 and Xbox. Nintendo Revolution console is only two or three times as powerful as the GameCube. I think this gaming console have awesome future.
