Studio 8 Announced Aug 08. 052
Macromedia have gone public on ‘“Studio 8”:http://www.macromedia.com/software/studio/’. The final installment perhaps before we see a combined effort from the Macromedia and Adobe software development teams.
In a less than unexpected move they have seen sense and dropped the pointless ‘MX’ tag and reverted back to a simple version numbering.
Sometimes you have to wonder what planet the marketing types are on when they thought it was a good idea to have a product called ‘Macromedia Flash MX 2004 Pro’. Craaaazy! :)

I’ve been anxiously awaiting the next Macromedia Studio release… hoping (now relieved) that they’d get at least one more out before the Adobe merger really takes hold. It’s also nice to see that they’ve dropped the crazy “MX” stuff. I wondered why they (and many other software companies) did that in the first place. A number tells me more than some weird snappy letter combination.
