Neve is well and truly a toddler, infact in many ways she’s a little girl now and with that comes the first words, phrases and the amusement accompanied by them.

I thought I’d document some of her more popular words and phrases here with the actual meanings (so far as Jo and I can tell).

  • Whe boo (‘Where’s Boo')
  • Deresis (‘There he is’, when she finds Boo)
  • Dat! dat! dat! dat! (Can I have ‘that’ please)
  • Juice (With a french accent, meaning ‘Juice’)
  • Daaaaddddyyy
  • Muuuummmmmy
  • My Mummy (Jo gets ‘My Mummy’ every now and then)
  • Yeeees (Usually in answer to ‘do you want a lolly?’)

And the favourite…

  • No (Accompanied by shaking of the head)

I know a bunch of you have children at a similar age, so what funny phrases and sayings do yours have?

I always the loved the way Samanatha pronouced Sausages (“Sod-aj-iz”) and Strawberries (“Bor-briz”). She also had a distinctly scottish accent whenever she said “Noddy”.

Emma says “I dill it!” (I did it!) when she’s pleased with herself, like climbing up onto a chair for example.

She always whispers “pease” when she’s asked if she would like something. Meals usually end with a request for “gogh-urt” (yoghurt), “bana” (banana) or “pies” (surprise).

When she’s good sometimes we give her a ‘surprise’ which is usually a small bowl of raisins (she’s easily pleased!)

No is definitely a firm favourite for our two (or, to be more precise – ‘Nnnnnooooooooo’) ;)

Others include:

* ‘Wadabit’ (I want a bit of whatever you’re eating);

* ‘Nuzzz’ (I’ve got a runny nose, please wipe it);

* ‘LELLO!’ (name of favourite toy);

* ‘Emmeeeee!!’ (name of big sister).

I have a couple of others to add to the list…

* Bish (Fish)

* Butterbye (Butterfly)
