Blogging the migration from Textpattern to ExpressionEngine Sep 22. 085

I have made a cast iron decision. I am migrating (this) my personal blog from Textpattern to ExpressionEngine. I thought others might find it useful if I blogged my progress along the way.

So, this is the first of a number of posts which will explain the how, why when and what in as much detail as I can muster. If you’re looking to do the same then perhaps you’d like to follow me…

:)

Update: Step 1, Step 2, Step 3, Step 4, Step 5, Conclusion.

Just out of interest, what is the advantage of using ExpressionEngine over TextPattern?

Thanks in advance, Mary

I always preferred wordpress to create blogs, although it becomes very buggy with plugins. I love wordpress’s SEO aspects, although textpattern is very easy to use. I’ve never used expressionengine, I’m definitely going to follow your progress I’m hoping you write articles on the differences of the two.

Spend your time learning and developing sites with ExpressionEngine and we’ll use this blog to keep you informed of all the news related to ExpressionEngine and CodeIgniter.

There is less likelihood that fashion is affecting the beautiful peoples choices and more that it is feature based or development prognosis based. If the perceived wisdom is that X is going to be heavily developed and strongly mature and Y has stagnated and while excellent, may lag behind, then as long as you are in ‘the know’, then your choice of platform is more about good business than fashion.I am a fan of TXP (textpattern). We’ll see what happens, but I don’t expect to be dusting off my boob tube anytime soon…
