To think that she’s already been in my life for 2 years is just mind blowing. On one hand it hardly seems like yesterday that Jo and I first set eyes on her, whilst on the other there are just so many fantastic memories, it’s hard to believe that all those events could have taken place in such a short time.
Happy Birthday from Jo and I to our darling 1st daughter. We hope you enjoyed your day as much as we did. :)
Neve is well and truly a toddler, infact in many ways she’s a little girl now and with that comes the first words, phrases and the amusement accompanied by them.
I thought I’d document some of her more popular words and phrases here with the actual meanings (so far as Jo and I can tell).
After almost 26 hours of contractions (how do women do it?) my beautiful wife Jo gave birth to our second daughter ‘Isla Debra Pitman’ on Monday morning at 1:50am.
Isla is the tiniest little thing. Having arrived just over 2 weeks early she weighs just 6lb and 2 ounces. :)
Jo’s contractions started at about midnight, it’s 11:30am (ish) now and we’re still here at home. We’ll most likely be heading up to Hospital some time this afternoon if things keep progressing steadily.
After hearing stories from my wife during the week about my daughters amazing new slide skills at our local soft play center (Whoosh!), I just had to witness it for myself. On Saturday morning we were there before the door was even open. We made our way to the top of the play area where the slide entrance resides and before I knew it Neve was making a run for it. Giggling already she sat herself down at the top, promptly turned herself around onto her belly and pushed off.
My video skills are a bit ropey but I had to manage sliding, aiming the camera and slowing myself down all at the same time. That plus the fact that I’m a bloke so I can’t multi-task. I think we must have ridden the slide 10 times or more. I’ll have to see if I can devise some kind of steadycam device for next time to better document the hilarity.
