It’s not often that you come across Flash based websites which really make the most of this highly interactive medium. More often than not Flash sites exist because it was the easiest way for the developer to produce a consistent result, and one which in reality could have easily been accomplished with just a sprinkling of flash, or even none at all.

Dontclick.it however is the total opposite, a site which would never work using good old XHTML and CSS (Well maybe with a very very large serving of JavaScript). Thank goodness more designers and developers are starting to use Flash for the right reasons.

    Love the freeform navigation. Which reminds me, speaking of Flash, have you had the chance to play with the new Flash Player 8?

    It’s pretty impressive, especially the accompanying demo on Macromedia :)

    When I had installed it for Firefox I couldn’t for the life of me figure out why Flash all of a sudden stopped working. That is, until I removed the Adblock extension. Now, it works like a charm. ;)

    I’ve had a bit of a play, I’ve been lucky enough to have been involved in the 8 Ball beta. I have to say I love the live effects which you can apply now, ‘drop shadow’ in particular saves constantly importing PNGs from Fireworks.

    Oh yes, very spiffy indeed. Especially applying those live effects to live video :) Overall, there’s a definite increase in rendering speeds amongst other little things.
